The GHS girls tennis team dropped its match against Creekview, 4-1. The Grizzlies are currently ranked #2 in AAA. With the loss, the team's record moves to 8-3 on the season.

The GHS girls tennis team continued their winning ways by edging Chestatee 3-2 in match play. The girls are 7-2 on the season.

Welch resigns as boys basketball coach

The Times-Courier learned Wednesday that boys varsity basketball head coach David Welch resigned from his coaching position.


Welch only coached one year at GHS and led a young Bobcat team to a 2-24 record. The Bobcats next head man will be the team’s third head coach in as many years. Renny Bryner led the Bobcats for five seasons prior to Welch’s arrival.

Versus White the JV let the game slip away in the final inning and came up short down two runs in the bottom of the seventh. The varsity played a good game against Fannin and the Rebels took the a comfortable lead after GHS went up 2-0 in the first. GHS fought back but the Rebels were able to add a couple insurance runs in the seventh to hold on.
